Punjab Kings are in a good form in the last few matches. However they lost their last match to Royal Challengers Bengaluru which happened to be the Qualifier 1. They lost that match badly after getting all out on just 101 runs. Punjab Kings have three wins in last five games. Mumbai Indians are in a good form as well and have won three matches out of their last five games. They won a must win game against Gujarat Titans in the last match. Rohit Sharma scored 80 runs in the Eliminator to save the team from elimination.
The pitch of Narendra Modi Stadium is good for both batting and bowling. So far 43 IPL matches have been played here. 21 times the team batting first has won and 21 times the chasing team has won. Only one match has been won. This means this pitch is fair for both types of teams.
The average score of the team batting first is 180. The average score of the second innings is 163, which is a little less. Meaning if a good total is obtained by batting first, then the chances of winning the match increase. On this ground Punjab Kings have scored 243 runs which is the highest, and Gujarat Titans were all out for just 89, which is the lowest score. So runs are made on this pitch but wickets also fall.
Both teams have played a total of 33 head-to-head in the IPL. Punjab Kings have won 16 matches, while Mumbai Indians have won 17 times. In the last few years, there have been close matches between the two teams. In IPL 2025, Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings fought against each other in a match where Josh Inglis stood against Mumbai Indians as a lone warrior.

Iyer has shown amazing form this season. He has scored 516 runs in 15 matches and his best score was 97 not out. His average is more than 46 and strike rate is also above 170. This shows that he has scored solid runs for the team in every match. He has maintained touch in recent matches as well. He played a crucial innings of 53 runs against Delhi and 26 not out against Mumbai. Whenever the team needed to be controlled, Iyer responded on the front foot.
Arshdeep has taken 18 wickets in the season and his best bowling has been 3 for 16. He created pressure in every match. His strike rate is 16 which shows that he makes regular breakthroughs. He took 2 wickets against Mumbai and turned the game around against Lucknow. Sometimes his spells were a bit expensive but his wicket-taking ability made him valuable.
Suryakumar Yadav has set the stage on fire throughout the season. He scored 673 runs in 15 matches, scored fifty 5 times and had a strike rate of 167. His consistency is proof that his average is also above 67. In recent matches too, he played match-winning innings of 73 not out against Delhi and 57 runs against Punjab. Whenever the team needs fast runs, Surya goes into attack mode.
Bumrah has troubled every team with his bowling this season. He took 18 wickets in 11 matches and his economy was just 6.36. His best spell was 4 for 22. His bowling was game-changing for MI in every phase. His spells of 3 wickets against Delhi and 2 wickets against Gujarat made MI strong. His control and accuracy in the death overs is MI's strength.
Prabhsimran scored 517 runs in the season and his best score was 91. The strike rate is 166 which shows that he plays full attack in powerplay. He scored fifty 4 times and consistently gave fast starts to the team. His innings of 91 runs against Lucknow was memorable where he changed the momentum of the match. He has been very important for PBKS in the role of opener.
Tilak scored 299 runs in the season and his best was 59. His average is around 30 which is quite good for a middle order batsman. He played quick knocks of 27 runs against Delhi and 25 runs against Gujarat. Although he failed in some innings, but when he bats, he creates momentum. Tilak has been useful whether the team needs to be given stability or the run chase needs to be made smooth.
Azmatullah Omarzai is bowling his full overs but is not consistent with his line and length so keep an eye on him in Grand League teams only. He bats very deep where his chances to get more than 4-5 balls are very less. He was expensive in the last match but got two wickets luckily, however in this match, you can avoid him.
Dhir has given good knocks sometimes in the season. Whenever he gets a chance, he scores runs, but that too comes in the lower order. Wankhede pitch is helpful for batting, that is why the top order plays more. It is not fixed whether Dhir comes to bat or not. It is a bit risky, so you can try it in GL, but it will be better to stay away from the safe team.
